We believe barbering is a ritual, a moment to slow down, reconnect with the senses, and feel renewed.

#Mindfulgrooming

A movement that honors the art of grooming as a bridge to well-being.

"In a time of digital saturation, loneliness, and rising mental health struggles, the third spaces offer refuge, Mindful Grooming is the approach that can amplify the work many already understand"

Are you an artist who believes cutting hair is more than a service?

Let’s create spaces of transformation together

We investigate how grooming rituals, silence, and mindful attention can impact both barbers and clients, opening new possibilities for emotional health and community building.

Knowmads

“For a long time, I tried to be someone. Then I tried to be no one. In the process, I realized -simply being is also an option.” 人

Hey Ren here — barber, psychologist  researcher in training, organizational consultant, and author of MindfulKnowmads, a living philosophical manifesto where I explore what happens when knowmads apply mindfulness.

This project was born from a deep calling to explore what happens when vision, trust, and action meet. In my journey around the world, I’ve met extraordinary people who live with purpose, co-create abundance, and challenge the limits of what we believe is possible. Their stories form the heart of a book and a movement - a guide for designing lives rooted in meaning, presence, and evolutionary purpose, in the sense described by Ken Wilber: an unfolding direction of greater wholeness.

As a child, I traveled with my mother, a social worker in the Andes of Peru. Those early moments planted the first seed. That seed has grown through years of exploring philosophy, psychology, organizational design, marketing, and spiritual inquiry. I’ve built organizations, advised purposeful brands, and cut hair in several countries with people from different backgrounds and ways of understanding the world. But more than titles, what drives me is this question:

How can we create spaces that awaken the best in people?

The research I am conducting is an offering from this path - a study that seeks to unify empirical knowledge and academic inquiry to create a theoretical framework for teaching MindfulBarbering and MindfulGrooming, where barbers and stylists can become agents of wellbeing.

The chair is never just a chair - it is a doorway into the third space. In this space, beyond home and work, we find presence, trust, and connection.
